CJS was created for youth, by youth. Our mission is to empower youth by providing accessible, informative content through educational articles, newsletters, and Instagram posts. From exploring various areas of the Criminal Justice system to shedding light on career opportunities, we aim to equip young minds with the knowledge and understanding they need to navigate this crucial field!
Hello! My name is Hanna. I graduated high school early in 2024, during my sophomore year, and started college. I am double majoring in Criminal Justice with cognates in Strategic Intelligence & Homeland Security. I started Criminal Justice Simplified because I wanted to share more of the things I am interested in; Criminal Justice, writing, and learning. My goal is to inspire other teenagers to learn about Criminal Justice and even decide if they want a career in the broad Criminal Justice field! There is so much to learn and love, which is why I am so excited to be apart of this!
Criminal Justice Simplified is looking for dedicated volunteers! If you’re a teenager interested in Criminal Justice, this is an easy way to earn volunteer hours, all from the comfort of your home! The descriptions of the open positions are below, if you have any questions, feel free to email us!
As a Post Researcher, you will be researching criminal justice topics for our Instagram posts. You will be organizing the content in the form of a Google Document. The content that you research will go to our graphic designers who will make the post! The content has to be engaging, informative, and educational. It has to keep the target audience of teenagers interested in criminal justice in mind.

Researching one topic earns 1 volunteer hour.
As a Graphic Designer, you will create posts for our Instagram account and LinkedIn! Post Researchers will research topics, and you will be provided a Google Document. This document will have all of the information that you need to put into the post. You will create interesting posts that will attract viewers. These posts can be made on any platform, but Canva is the most user friendly for this position.

Creating one post earns 3 volunteer hours.
Are you looking for a way to learn volunteer hours without doing a lot of work? If that sounds like you, this is your position!

Criminal Justice Simplified Ambassadors have the job of promoting CJS on Instagram and/or LinkedIn! You will repost the posts that the CJS accounts make on your Instagram story or LinkedIn feed. No experience is needed, so any teenager with a passion in Criminal Justice can do this position!

Each repost earns you 0.5 volunteer hour(s).
If you love creative writing and Criminal Justice, this is an amazing opportunity for you! Basic experience in English writing and researching topics are needed; school papers count as experience! You have freedom in choosing topics, as long as they are related to Criminal Justice!

Submitting two articles each month is required to be a volunteer. If there is any reason why two cannot be submitted, I understand as long as I am notified of this! We accept short articles which are 500-950 words, and long articles which are 951-1300 words.

Short articles earn 1 volunteer hour.
Long articles earn 3 volunteer hours.
As an article editor, your job will be to edit articles written by our article writers! For this position, you need to have a good understanding of grammar, spelling, and punctuation. If you are accepted, you will be given a practice paragraph to assess your understanding! If there are any errors, I will personally train you and show you where there were mistakes! No experience is needed!
